Association History

Tarrant County Pharmaceutical Association (TCPA) was chartered in 1970 by pharmacists passionate about the future of the pharmacy profession. As time went on, membership grew to include pharmacy technicians and students interested in advancing the profession of pharmacy. TCPA was then changed to Tarrant County Pharmacy Association to better align with our parent organization, Texas Pharmacy Associations (TPA), and other local chapters.

Throughout the years we have established and endowed scholarships at most Texas colleges of pharmacy as well as two Oklahoma colleges of pharmacy. Through the help of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacies, spouses and others, TCPA fundraises to continue with these scholarship endowments as well as annual contributions to several local charities, including Tarrant Area Food Bank.

We are proud of the active role our membership takes at the state level. TCPA members are on the Texas Pharmacy Foundation board, nominating committee, various other TPA committees, the board of directors, and have held all officer positions. TCPA has produced several TPA past presidents, most recently Carter High in 2022-2023.
